Gasoline consumer prices follow crude oil and gasoline world market price fluctuations. In Finland, tax constitutes the main component in the gasoline consumer price, a component which is not impacted by world market price fluctuations. The gasoline consumer price is further impacted by the costs of refining, transport and distribution. The price of crude oil is just one of the many factors impacting the gasoline price. The import price of crude oil is also subject to the effects of the Euro exchange rate in relation with the United States Dollar.
